OXEN sports have revealed a new long-term partnership with eight-time Super League Champions, Leeds Rhinos. The UK-based sports manufacturer will be the technical kit suppliers to the club for the next ten years.

The initial ten-year deal will see OXEN produce the Rhinos mens and womens playing, training and leisurewear from the 2021 Super League seasons and provide the club with a unique design and production approach bespoke to the Rhinos and the club’s traditions.

As well as working with the Super League sides, OXEN will also work closely with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation on exciting new possibilities for the many schools and education partners that the Foundation engages with.

OXEN already work with Hull KR in Super League as well as Gloucester Rugby in the Gallagher Premiership and will now add Leeds Rhinos to their impressive growing list of partnerships.

Leeds Rhinos Commercial Director Rob Oates said, “In these challenging financial times, we are delighted to have agreed a long-term partnership that works for us as an organisation but importantly also for our partners, OXEN. In particular I would like to thank Lee Jenkinson from Elite Pro Sports for his hard work and dedication in pulling the deal together. Lee has years of experience in sports retail and importantly, having previously worked at the Rhinos, he understands our club and fan base. The new partnership will allow us to produce top quality items that are unique to our club.”

The team behind OXEN, part of the Elite Pro Sports Group, are based in the UK and have been working in the sports industry for over 30 years. They are incredibly passionate about what they do and deeply understand the sports industry, which means they never compromise on quality, because they want their professional partners and their fans to perform at their best.

Lee Jenkinson, CEO of Elite Pro Sports, added, “We are delighted to have agreed a long term partnership with Leeds Rhinos, one of the biggest brands in world rugby. We are excited about the new ranges for 2021 but equally we are keen to continue to grow the Rhinos brand over the coming years and respond to the demands of supporters.

“The process for 2021 began with the performance department and senior staff at the club many months ago to ensure the club had a brand new look and feel to apparel for the 2021 season. I have also met with the club’s Supporters Board to explain our vision as a company and our plans for 2021 with Leeds and our #Createnewhistory philosophy. There are some exciting times ahead and we are very pleased to be part of the Rhinos family in the coming decade.”

Leeds Rhinos Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield added, “It’s fantastic to be working with a brand who recognise the difference between the performance needs of the rugby department and the commercial objectives of the club. Throughout early discussions, it was apparent that OXEN are equally well equipped to deliver on both fronts. They made a real effort to sit with the performance department club at the beginning of the design process to ensure that all performance needs were met and we are genuinely excited to be wearing OXEN from 2021 onwards.”
